Contest Finalist and Forthcoming Work in Coastal Shelf
I just received word that another poem from my thesis has been named a finalist in Coastal Shelf’s inaugural FuPo Poetry Contest. The contest was designed for poems that are both funny and poignant (hence FuPo), and my work “Now That We Use TV-Tray Tables for Dinner, Our Transformation into a Middle-Aged Married Couple is Complete” will be printed alongside the winners and a smattering of other finalists sometime this fall.
As the title suggests, the poem is about growing older, changing expectations, and coping with loss. In the meantime, check out Coastal Shelf’s website for previous issues of the journal here. Special thanks to editor Zebulon Huset for this honor!
