Live Reading and Publishing Updates

This Friday, I’ll be giving a fifteen-minute poetry reading at the Tecumseh location of Indigo. Joining me are several local poets sharing work, including Emily Roe, Vanessa Shields, and many more. This free evening of spoken word will begin at 5:30 p.m. and wrap up by 7 p.m. Please come out and support this community of writers! My chapbook, Mayflies, will also be available for sale.

Additionally, I have several new pieces that have been published in journals and an anthology created by Western Michigan University’s Office for Sustainability. Two prose pieces (“Redbud” and “Pound Cake”) and one poem (“Blackout Cells”), along with audio files of my reading of these works, appears in The Coalition’s seventh issue. One prose piece (“A Separation”) appears in The Turning Leaf Journal’s inaugural issue. Finally, three prose pieces (“While Biking With My Father Who Has Alzheimer’s,” “Direction,” and “It’s June,”) are part of the collection Propagate: Fruits from the Garden Anthology, now available for pre-order here.

Special thanks goes to Jaime Alejandro over at The Coalition, Megan Eralie-Henriques and Lauren McKinnon at The Turning Leaf Journal, and the editing team of Ju Collins, Fritz Dries, and v.f. thompson who compiled the Propagate anthology.
